SAFFORD — The public is invited to take a trip down memory lane.
Graham County Historical Society is conducting its annual meeting Saturday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m., at the Graham County General Services Building.
“We’re going to have a short business meeting, and then we are going to honor Gene Robert Larson with our Heritage Award for his many years of community service,” said Historical Society Secretary Deanna Moeller.
Larson has been a member of the Graham County Planning and Zoning Commission for more than 40 years and currently serves as chairman. He was the owner of a company that oversaw construction projects, well drilling, farming and mining projects across the nation; and helped develop water systems in Africa, South America and Central America.
In addition, Safford Downtown Association President Danny Smith will present a history of the historic Safford Theater, which is currently undergoing a complete restoration. The meeting is free to attend and there will be light snacks served
