Back to School Resource Fair is Saturday

THATCHER — Parents and students will have a chance to get needed school supplies and information about available services, all for free this weekend.

The 14th annual Graham County Back to School Resource Fair will take place Saturday, July 15, starting at 8 a.m., at the Academics Program Building on the middle campus of Eastern Arizona College.

Backpacks filled with school supplies will be available for free, on a first-come, first-served basis. Each school-aged child will be issued a voucher for one complete set of clothes from either GCRC or St. Vincent De Paul.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

In addition, new and expectant parents will be able to get a free car seat; however, parents must a training session to receive the seat. Pre-registration is required at 928-428-8590.

The Back to School Resource Fair is sponsored by the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition, the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties, First Things First, Safford City-Graham County Library, Canyonlands Healthcare, Tooth B.U.D.D.S., GFWC Woman’s Club of Safford, Safford Lions Club, Great Communities Resource Center, St. Vincent De Paul Society, 19 Double X Studios, Graham County, Eastern Arizona College, the Small Business Development Center, Multi Vendor Events, Tucson Medical Center and Tucson Police.
