Edwin Frederick Barlow

Loving husband, father, and grandfather, Edwin Frederick Barlow, 75 of Duncan, passed away in his home November 12, 2016, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born March 19, 1941, in Morenci, Arizona, to Darrel and Irma Barlow.

Ed graduated from Duncan High School in 1959. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and served his country proudly. He has lived most of his life in the Duncan Valley, where one of his greatest joys was being involved in several activities, such as Little League, serving on the Duncan School Board, 4-H, FFA, and many others. He owned and operated the Barlow’s Chevron for over 22 years, where he enjoyed interactions with the community in addition to providing employment to many young men.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Darrel and Irma Barlow; and his two sisters, Elizabeth (Mel) Richins and Darelyn (Bud) Barrowclaugh.

Ed is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Julie Thygerson Barlow; his four children, Kellie Costello, Ken (Julee) Barlow, Cody (Stasha) Barlow, and Marci (Scott) Shields; his seven grandchildren, Kaila, Michael, Kelsey, Josh, Zac, Caleb, and Lily; and his brother, Doug Barlow.

Graveside services will be conducted at the Duncan Cemetery on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Brad Boyd. A celebration of Ed’s life will be immediately following at the First Baptist Church in Duncan.
