Thatcher – Eastern Arizona College’s Choral Musical Department is pleased to present Fall Sing 2016: Memories – The Stories of Life. This musical journey is sure to capture the hearts of all audiences with songs that highlight the landmarks of life: birth, growth, education, love, marriage and death. The show will take the stage of the EAC Fine Arts Auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29, in a special 2 p.m. matinee performance.
“Music is the language of the soul,” Dr. Bruce Bishop said. “It allows us to understand and communicate human emotion. The landmarks of life can be expressed and the feelings encapsulated in powerful music. (The) birth of a baby, falling in love, death of a loved one, education, overcoming challenges – these and many other life experiences can be more completely understood through the powerful vocabulary of music.”
Joining the choirs on the stage this year is EAC’s new musical theatre instructor, Chase Moore, of Richmond, Kentucky. Moore completed his master of music in choral conducting in May of 2015, and his bachelor of music in piano performance, both at Eastern Kentucky University. He has had several teaching and teaching-related experiences, including adjunct professor of music, staff accompanist, instructor in the piano lab at Eastern Kentucky University and professor of music at Clear Creek Baptist Bible College. At Eastern Kentucky, Moore was a graduate assistant in the choral department conducting the Chamber Singers, the University Singers, and the Concert Choir.
Along with serving in his new position, Moore is excited to be conducting Women’s Chorale in Fall Sing this year. Moore will also be featured in three of A Cappella Choir’s tunes, one of which he and Valene Bryce will accompany as a duet.
