THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is sponsoring a workshop “Tax Planning for Small Businesses” on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 6–8 p.m., in the EAC High Tech Center, Room #124. There will be a registration fee of $20 per person for the workshop.

“Workshop instructor, Petrea Kunz, of You-Can-Relax Tax Service, is an experienced CPA who will answer all the attendees questions and make sure that no one pays more taxes than they need to,” said SBDC Director, Kevin Peck. “She will expand on topics such as how to claim business expenses legitimately, how to be prepared now for end-of-year filing, how to record information correctly throughout the year to make end-of-year filing easier for you and your accountant and the top 10 questions that clients ask their accountant.”

“If business owners better understand how to track their expenses during the year, tax season becomes much less stressful,” Kunz said. “Right now, a lot of entrepreneurs are asking themselves, ‘How am I supposed to count that mileage again? And what can I claim for that Vegas convention I attended?’”

“Whether you are considering starting a business or have been running your own shop for years, Tax Planning for Small Businesses seminar will give you the opportunity to ask your accountant everything you want to know without getting billed,” Peck said.
