THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College will offer Introduction to General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry (CHM138, section #1549) with a new associate adjunct professor, Dr. Patrick Eduafo, this spring.
Eduafo attended Jacobs University in Bremen, Germany to receive his biochemical engineering degree before transferring to Colorado School of Mines in 2011 to finish his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Master’s Degrees in Chemistry and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. He has a provisional patent on the recovery of mixed rare earth oxides and has published articles Metabolic Engineering and Bioprocess Sciences and Technology on Nova. Eduafo also serves in several professional groups including The American Ceramic Society — an inclusive participation within the field of ceramic science and engineering.
The Introduction to General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry class is offered on Tuesdays from 4:30-7:20 p.m., in the Math/Science Building, Room 203. Students enrolled in the course must also enroll in lab section #1569.
A prerequisite of English 091 or higher must be completed before enrollment. The course is designed for students preparing for careers in allied health such as nursing. It is also appropriate for students seeking a general education laboratory sciences course, and serves as a preparatory class for those who need to take General Chemistry but have not had high school chemistry.
“I am excited to be teaching at EAC, and cannot wait to share my admiration of science with my students,” said Eduafo.
To register for this class call EAC’s Records and Registration Office at (928) 428-8270 or visit Gila Hank Online at www.eac.edu. Students age 55 and over qualify for EAC’s Senior Citizen Tuition Scholarship which covers the full cost of in-state tuition.
