Dorine Smith, 74, passed away November 26, 2016, at the Northern Cochise Community Hospital from breast cancer.
Ms. Smith was born on May 28, 1942, in Pima, Arizona, to Emmitt Houston and Dora Faye Morris. She had four siblings: Thomas, Alice, Emmitt, and Dewey Morris. She married Lloyd Eugene Smith and had one daughter, Barbara Jean Smith.
Ms. Smith worked at Motorola from 1980 to 1987, when she moved to Arkansas with her husband. In June of 1989, she moved to Germany with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. She watched history unfold in November 1989, when the Berlin Wall was taken down. Ms. Smith moved back to Arizona in July 1992, and continued to live with her daughter and granddaughter.
Dorine Smith is survived by: her daughter, Barbara Smith; her granddaughter, Marie Short; her siblings, Dewey, Alice, and Emmitt Morris; her grandson-in-law, John Short, Jr.; and her six great-grandchildren, John, Nalia, Lilith, Vincent, Greyson, and Lydia Short.
Funeral services for Dorine will be conducted Thursday December 1, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., at the Church Street LDS Chapel by Bishop Mike McEuen of the Thatcher Eighth Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Safford Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., in the Church Street LDS Chapel Relief Society Room.
