Cardinal Football Cheerleaders And Big Red Visit the Gila Valley

On Thursday, May 12, 2016, folks in the Gila Valley were given the chance to come down to the Safeway parking lot to see the Arizona Cardinal cheerleaders and the mascot, Big Red. The line to see the cheerleaders was substantially long by four o’clock. Big Red walked among the people, giving kids high-fives and posing with the adults for photos. There were raffles and prizes available. Off to the far end of the parking lot there was also a ball-toss for younger kids. The locals were happy to see their favorite mascot, and the cheerleaders were only too happy to pose with their fans.

According to Big Red, he was brought into this existence to fulfill his destiny as the Cardinal’s mascot. “I’ve been blessed with a wonderful opportunity to entertain in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals. It’s what I was born to do.”  Big Red’s favorite song is Bird is the Word, his wingspan is seven feet, and his favorite book is Where the Wild Things Are.
