Barbara Jean Rains, a longtime resident of Safford, entered into eternal life early Friday morning, April 28, 2017, at the Life Stream Complete Senior Living at Sun Ridge in Surprise, Arizona, following a brief illness. She was 79.
Barbara was born March 31, 1938, in Oakland, California, the daughter of Fay Lerch and Francis Bawden.
Barbara leaves behind: her two daughters, Patty Shaffer (Jeff), of Surprise and Kathy Brown (Paul), of Washington; three grandsons; six granddaughters; five great-grandsons and eight great-granddaughters. Barbara was predeceased by: her husbands, John Quirk, in 1979; and John Rains in March of 2016; as well as her mother, Fay Leslie Lerch Bawden; and her father, Francis Richard Bawden.
Funeral services for Barbara will be conducted Friday morning, May 5, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Roselane Ward L.D.S. Chapel, 5033 North 38th Avenue in Phoenix, by Brother Joe Lines of the Solomonville Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 West Van Buren in Phoenix.
The family will receive friends Friday morning, May 5, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., also at the Roselane Ward L.D.S. Chapel Relief Society Room.
