Aurora Serna Sanchez “Bodie”, 84, of Safford, passed away September 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 12, 1932 in Sanchez, AZ to Manuel Tellez & Reyes Serna Sanchez.
She attended schools at the schoolhouse in Sanchez until the 8th grade and began working by doing laundry. She loved crocheting, quilting, beading and knitting. She always made slippers, dolls, blankets, hair pins and hats for her nieces and nephews.
Bodie is survived by her sister Sylvia S. Coleman and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reyes Serna & Manuel Tellez Sanchez, and siblings Valdo Sanchez, Loida Grijalva, Josephine Vindiola, Onesimo Sanchez, Trinidad Sanchez, Manuel Sanchez, Jr., Fidel Calderon and Priscilla Mayhew.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel. The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 4th beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Sanchez Cemetery.
