The regular season is over in the 2A East Region. The teams in both girls and boys basketball will compete in a region tournament. The two teams that make the championship game will get automatic bids into the postseason. They will still be seeded where they finished the regular season though, the regional tournament will not count towards your powerpoint rankings.
2A East Girls

The Girls tournament starts today, February 4th at 6pm with the following games at the higher seed.

#1 Thatcher will host the semi-final round on Wednesday, February 6th. They will play the winner of the Morenci/Bisbee game. The two other winners will play each other in the other semi-final. Those games will be at 5pm and 7pm.
2A East Boys

The 2A Boys tournament will tip-off on Tuesday, February 5th at 6pm with the following matchups.

#1 Morenci will host the semi-finals on Thursday, February 7th and will play the winner of the Bisbee/Benson game. That likely sets up another Thatcher/Pima game in the 2nd semifinal game on Thursday. Those games are scheduled to tip at 5pm and 7pm Thursday. Just like the girls tournament, the two teams that make the championship game will get automatic spots in the postseason but will remain at their regular season rankings.
Morenci, Thatcher and Pima cannot improve their playoff spots in this tournament. The only teams that can change their postseason chances are teams that are ranked out of the top 24.
