Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona — On the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 3, a burglary was reported at a residence in Concho, Arizona. The Apache County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence in order to investigate. An occupant of the residence was discovered deceased, the victim of a homicide. The Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigations Division was requested to investigate the homicide.

The suspect, Joshua Cade Richardson, 14, was taken into custody at approximately 7 p.m. Wednesday, in the Pinetop-Lakeside area by detectives with the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The juvenile was hungry and thirsty, but otherwise in good health. He surrendered without incident.

Richardson will be booked on an arrest warrant for first-degree murder and burglary in the first degree.
